Liner notes: Miss Rain

I really, really love rain. I'm a real rain girl myself. I've had lots of rainy days, even my school entrance and graduation ceremonies.

If it's raining lightly, I like to walk without an umbrella. I also love driving on rainy days.

Also on rainy days, I like even more sitting in my house alone, doing nothing, gazing at the drenched landscape outside. And at times like that, I think of the one I'm in love with. And then I want to see him right away.

I'm always in love. With my heart pounding, I always draw manga as I'm thinking of the process of love, and thinking all about the one I love.

Are you in love too? When I was drawing "Miss Rain", I was in love with some wonderful shoes. They were wonderful Italian-made shoes from a store in the T Hotel I often went to in Hibiya. But they were very expensive, so it ended as unrequited love.

My lovely K-kun was going to be a high school student, but a friend told me he couldn't be seen as anything but a snobby, young exec, Italian jerk. (I wonder if that's a snobby, elite company man dressed in Italian-brand suits.) That's all right. "Miss Rain" is a work I love, packed with nothing but things I love.
